Exactly. That is why I have had trouble believing the story. If true you would be taking the word of an admitted alcoholic that is breaking the prime directive of AA.

Oh I believe the story. So far it is the best explanation that fits the facts.

The point is that whoever named Larry Reid as being at an AA meeting needs to have a calibration meeting with their sponsor.
