Do you realize just how awful the weather is in Texas as compared to California? And Texans are not cordial to Californians. I have a very good friend who moved to Austin to take a senior technical management position at Tracor. For seven years, his neighbors shunned him and his family because “they weren’t real Texans.” The sad part of it was he couldn’t get anywhere near what he needed from the custom home he built there to buy a new place back in the Silicon Valley, but he left anyway. The driver was his wife came to visit us and refused to go back, forcing her husband to find another job back in California! She is a very nice woman who basically said “Texans are “inbred a$$holes” who think you have to “earn the right to live there by living there for a couple of generations and take their crap.” Sorry 2DV, but that’s what she said. Now I suppose the Texas “long knives” will be on the hunt here.
I grew up in Chino, California and then lived in Iowa for decades. I’ve never seen any rejection from Texans in any way, shape or form. Ever.
