A subset of women undergo powerful mood changes, often associated with extreme anger, on a monthly basis and also as part of menopause. I do not know of any men who have this particular hormonally-related problem.
Men obviously have higher levels of testosterone, which is associated with much more violence and shortness of temper, in net, for their gender than for women—with the moodiest of hormonal cycles included. That is, some women are more prone to lose it at certain times of the month—but more men are prone to losing it 24/7/365.
