In the 80’s he was must watch TV.

Yeah. In 1982, I was going through a some tough months. One of the highlights of my day was watching Letterman. No matter how bad the day was, he always cheered me up and made me laugh.

I watched him often for the remainder of the decade.

I haven't watched in many years, so I can't comment on him or the show as they currently are, but I'll always be grateful to him for brightening some dark days way back then.

I can remember back in the early 1990s, the A&E channel aired Letterman episodes from the early to mid 1980s period. They were quite fun to watch in many instances. Too bad he ended up the sort of person I felt compelled to write my above post about.
