Wow! I can see this being a viable defense to hit and run in the future. A person could legally claim fear for their life in a future incident.

I believe it's usually not a problem if the driver heads to the nearest police station.

Most people don’t know where the nearest police station is.

They may know where the police station closest to where they live, is.
