Friday the week after next, April 24, marks the hundredth anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. While some nations of the world recognize the Genocide, there are many deniers. Yes, the nation of Turkey denies there was a Genocide; they were merely putting down nationalist uprisings from a population that was largely disarmed and unarmed. Of course, this happened during WWI while the rest of the world was distracted.

Mrs. rktman went to Armenia shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union to try to show folks how to develop and run free enterprises. While still early in the "freedom" they now enjoyed(at the time) it was not an easy task to teach them how to let go of the socialist/commie way of doing things. Hopefully, she made a difference.
Hitler was inspired and empowered by the Turks. The Anti-Christ will use the same playbook.
All the Armos I have come across in the United States, have done "quite well" adapting to the free enterprise system... not very ethical, but the have adapted none-the-less.
There are a lot of Armenian Genocide articles around now. What’s missing from most of them is the word “muslim”, and I find that odd. Weren’t the Young Turks muslim?
For the most part, as far as I know, anyone with an “-ian” at the end of their surname has Armenian heritage. Those that we know, and know of, have done well in the U.S.
In addition to the million armenians, another quarter million assyrian christians were killed in the same bloodbath. Another several hundred thousand greeks were killed about the same time, so this was truly a genocide against Christians.
Until the world was reintroduced to “jihad” in recent years I could not understand what happened. We are seeing it happen again and again no one is prepared to do anything about it.
That’s because they are apparently the religion of peace. Not much mention of the grand mufti being in bed with the nazis during WW II either.
Mustafa Kemel Ataturk was such a transformative historical figure because this taught him the consequences of allowing Islam to have life or death political power.
This is why, even as a nominal Muslim himself, he was adamant about curtailing their political power. This is why he banned public wearing of veils, headscarves, gave women the vote, etc.
President Erdogan of Turkey is trying to resurrect the Ottoman Empire. Every Christian in the Near East should leave before they become targets for butcher.
I am not joking. What is going on there now, with ISIS, is a precursor of what to expect in the future.
Turkey had just worked out an agreement with Iran (which insists it is resurrecting the Persian Empire). They intend on uniting all Muslims, and aim to conquer the world. Those two do not worry over religious differences; they want to destroy “the whore of Babylon”, which is Saudi Arabia, and Western Civilization specifically. Erdogan also is intent on unifying ten individual nations due to their Turkish ethnicity. Their locations, along the underbelly of Russia makes that nation extremely vulnerable to hostile Muslims.

Indeed, the Armenian genocide was an ethnic and religious “cleansing” by Muslims of Turkey slaughtering the Christians in their midst.
