So I am now caring for FIVE dogs.
Indeed.
Last year when former son-in-law was still around he got it into his head to breed American bull dogs. So they went out and bought one, then got another....one male, on e female.
Well they were supposed to keep them apart but you know how those things go.
Cookie....mate of Oreo and yes these are their names, gave birth to eleven puppies, one died at birth, this past Thanksgiving.
By this time former son-in-law is just that.....former. So Melissa delivered and cared for all those puppies. Did she make any money from them? Hell no. Cause it was just too much money to pay the vet bill, feed them....-plus the two adult dogs please note. Eventually she gave me one....Blanca....kept a pup, and gave the rest of them away.
so she has Cookie the female and Oreo the male and Hope, a puppy. Meanwhile I have Jackie the rescue dog I got year ago when my own dog died and I was a mess living without a dog.
Now it’s time for Oreo to go because no way can Melissa keep him. Two female dogs, mother and daughter....that will work fine. This is really a nice breed though Blanca needs more food than is on the planet.
So lady walking down the street, I say my daughter’s dog Oreo....she’s giving him up. Lady is all excited....can I see it?
So I call daughter, she brings Oreo over on a leash. This was the first time Oreo’s seen his daughter for a couple of months.
Honestly they both carried on like nuts, Oreo whining with joy and kissing Blanca. Meanwhile lady what wants him is like super impressed. Jackie....meanwhile, is all jealous with Oreo making over Blanca because Jackie desperately loves Blanca.

It was quite the scene.
American bull dogs are NOT pit bulls. They are like French bull dogs only with long legs.
They are mostly guard dogs, get along well with kids and other animals. Blanca loves the cats and they all, mostly , love her.
