I expect Cruz to run with Martinez - they’d be a GREAT PAIR.

I’d love it, but, don’t you think two Hispanics at the head of the ticket could be “too much” for most folks? Just wondering.

Fair question. The concerns are well-founded. It seems that people with a ‘characteristic’ often turn hard-left when something related to that characteristic becomes an issue. Say what you might about Kay Bailey Hutchinson overall, for example, but on military matters, she was top-grade material. Then Tailhook happens and she’s right there with Barbara Boxer.

Rubio was presidential grade material, but then he lost it on Amnesty and nearly dumped 30 million new Democrats in this country.

Probably similar examples with black conservatives, although they haven’t been as prominent. Dr. Carson does come to mind - I have walked the streets where he spent his career (JHU, in Baltimore), I can fully understand what goes through his mind on guns. You see some Aimish, maybe 4 of them, on the sidewalk in front of you - you really don’t want them also having a gun...so he turns left on that issue (not a good one to turn left on, at all), but otherwise seems (or seemed) like a good conservative, but albeit, unready for prime time on many issues.

So, given that, Cruz has to HOLD HIS GROUND on Amnesty and Open Borders. If he doesn’t, people will think he’s going Rubio on us...and he’ll likely be finished. Having a second Hispanic on the ballot certainly doesn’t help there.

On the other hand, if he does hold his ground, most of the country won’t even look at him as Hispanic...they’ll look at him as the closed thing to a conservative that has ever run and had a decent shot. Martinez, because she hasn’t been out front and center, will always be looked at as Hispanic. I think the media will go after her more so than Cruz, just to give our side doubts. But being a VP, she will definitely have some room to play the “good cop”.

This could be a lot of fun...and Martinez may help a lot if The Hag chooses one of the Castro’s to run with (which will likely be the case).
