Well he was one play away from taking Indy to the Super Bowl, without much of a supporting cast to work with.

A number of Super Bowl winning QBs were run of the mill. And Harbaugh's 1995 supporting cast included 1000+ yard rusher and future HOFer Marshall Faulk, and a D that allowed the second fewest points in the AFC.

He did play quite well that season, no question.

I doubt the author is seriously suggesting a POTUS bid for Harbaugh.

All because one dude with some cojones decided to call the bullys bluff. Amazing what taking a stand will do. More like all because of multimillion dollar TV contracts and alumni donations for a successful football program. Harbaugh gets away with it because of who he is, not because he has the guts to say what he thinks.

My dad is a life-long Steelers fan. When Harbaugh threw that pass and it looked like a completion, he jumped up and stormed out of the room, disgusted. We had to go chase him down to tell him it was incomplete and Pittsburgh was going to the Super Bowl.

Is his bust in Canton though?
Did the Colts retire his jersey even?
Then my comment stands. I think your trouble is with the word "mediocre." If your bust is in Canton, or your jersey number retired, what does that make you? "Average?" "Good?"

Run for Senate or Congress first.
