Chelsea Clinton has given an interview about life in the public eye, being a new mother and her hope that the US one day elects a female president.
While she stops short of naming a potential runner there can be little doubt given the timing of her comments about who she means.
It is no secret that her mother, Hillary, is due to announce her run for the White House on Sunday.
Ms Clinton told Elle magazine: One of our core values in this country is that we are the land of equal opportunity, but when equal hasn't yet included gender, there is a fundamental challenge there that, I believe, having our first woman presidentwhenever that iswill help resolve.
Ms Clinton, 35, became a mother last year, giving birth to Charlotte, and also describes her experiences of motherhood.
I now understandthis is something else that Marc and I talk about all the timeall of the enthusiastic, bombastically spectacular, wonderful things people say about their children, because we also feel and think all those things about Charlotte, said Clinton.
Inevitably, though, after growing up in the White House and having two of the country's most successful political operators for parents, much of the interview is taken up with politics.
And in particular the importance of seeing a woman lead the country.
Do I think it would make a substantive difference? she added. Yes, we've seen again and again, when women have been in positions of leadership, they have had different degrees of success versus their male counterparts, historically being able to build more consensus so that decisions have longer-term effects, whether in economic investments or in building social capital.
Who sits around the table matters. And who sits at the head of the table matters, too."

The daughter of Hillary and Web is right I would vote for Palin in a NY Minute
Sorry Ms. Hubbell,
Gender and race are NOT a priority at this time...
We need a PRESIDENT - for a change. An AMERICAN President!
They did wonders with that picture on Elle.
Did anyone ask for a few examples?
How about a president that will protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?
She's right. Sarah Palin!!!!!
Like a fish needs a bicycle
Wow! That girl looks just like Web Hubbell. She could be his daughter! Who is she?
Shouldn’t she be in prison along with her criminal parents?
chelsea, that is.
I haven’t seen Chelsea Clinton since she was falling down Drunk Passed out in a Bar in NYC in the National Enquirer.
She is Just Like her MOM...
I guess this means Hillary will be focusing a great deal of her campaign on women’s issues.
The last Democrat who used the same election strategy is now the former Senator from Colorado, Mark Udall, whose 2014 reelection campaign was so directed towards women and their overhyped ‘’problems’’ that he came to be known as Senator Mark Uterus. Even the liberal media joined in the fun, they were so annoyed, and a Republican now serves the people of Colorado in his place in the Senate.
So let the mockery begin as Hillary tries to turn the Democratic party into an adjunct of the National Organization for Women.
Sure Chelsie, her name is Sarah.
We need an intelligent and moral one.
The Hillabeast, lies-a-lotis, and silly little Chelsea are not within light years of that category.
"America needs a female President like a fish needs a bicycle"?
So their motto is going to be “Vote for the one with the vagina”?
No Chelsea, America doesn’t need a female president, America needs an enema.
5.56mm
Like the 60% of the American population that are postmenapausal women have lost their brains as well as their menses and are going to vote like lemmings for a person because she has a “xx” DNA instead of “ xy”? This isn’t “gender” politics... after all, there are 59 varieties of gender now. This is “vagina politics”, the very bad sequel to the “Vagina Monologues”!
Leadership determined by genitalia. This is so idiotic I can’t believe it.
