had a lake cottage on cayuga lake in seneca county. property and school taxes were ridiculous. sold it back in 2002. best move i ever made.
I can imagine. I know there is only one 60 plus acre tract left of my grandfather’s on my father’s side. That land is zoned like-”unimproved agriculture” and the property taxes are more then twice what a residential home in Nashville of the same value would be. No wonder the social security and welfare offices pop up first when I searched the town.
