Iran needs a bomb for 2 reasons.

1) It sets them up as the defacto leaders in the Muslim world since the Saudis are powerless to stop Iran.
2) It neutralizes Israel’s ability for preemption which also enables a ground war with Israel.

What Iran is hoping for and is probably Israel’s greatest fear is that Iran gets to take one of those puppies off the leash and then the US and UN step in and tell Israel not to retaliate.

The people who really should be scared are the Palestinians who will be annhilated is a nuke explodes in Israel.

It is hard sometimes to see how the end times of the Bible fit into our current days. One thing I am certain of, Jerusalem will never be nuked. The end times all takes place in that land. The antichrist sets up his kingdom sitting on the throne of King David, in the newly built temple in Jerusalem.

On the other hand there are passages in the old testament that state the land of Egypt will be inhabitable for 40 years. Ezekiel 29:9-21 And it also tells of Damascus, the oldest city, still not destroyed yet, becoming a ruinous heap. Isa 17:1.
