Consumers in Australia flocked to Apple Inc's (AAPL.O) store in Sydney on Friday to get the world's first up-close look at the tech giant's smartwatch, which the company expects will be its next runaway hit.
The Apple Watch, CEO Tim Cook's first new major product, was available for pre-order online and to try out in stores - but not take home.
On April 24, consumers will be able to buy it online or by reservation at retail locations including high-end fashion boutiques in Paris, London and Tokyo, part of Apple's strategy of positioning the wearable computer as a must-have accessory.

... LOL ... That comment makes no sense whatsoever ... :-) ...
too much information...
someone should take a picture with a iphone strapped to their wrist with the caption: “Look, i have the new iphone watch”
People get the best things they can get for their own satisfaction and according to their own preferences ... they don’t work and earn money to then shop for the worst things they can get ... :-) ...
That’s the great thing about capitalism and the free market system that we live in. How people want to spend their money is totally up to them. Isn’t that great?! ... :-) ...
“Your life is meaningless without one.”
I agree. Anyone without 6 Apple products is likely a loser in life.
God obviously designed us to have 8 electronic devices turned on at all times and have no face to face human interaction.
Hah!!!
Call me a hater!!!
Or a Luddite!
Do you pay for the apple promotion you do on FR, or do you do it behind Jim's back?
Ah haha. To funny
Kind of reminds me, in the 80’s, when they combined a vcr with a tv. Seemed like a good idea until the vcr stopped working. Now you have a tv with a broken vcr attached to it.
People work and earn to shop for things that suit their needs. They don't necessarily go for the best, nor do they necessarily go for the worst.
If people choose on the basis of what others think about them because of their choice, that fine with me.
But that doesn't mean that I don't think they're stupid or shallow for doing so.
AND ... if the majority of the market for toilet seats went for “this” ... like the majority of the smartphone market in the USA goes for iPhone ... then you would have “something to write home about!” ... :-) ...
A question that typically is asked by APPLE-HATER TROLLS of FREEPERS who post they like Apple products, in the Apple threads ... and ... has repeatedly and consistently been answered “no” by many others, including me ... :-) ...
BUT ... it keeps being asked, even though it keeps being answered ... LOL ...
That’s what Apple did, when first designing the Apple Watch ... I kid you not! ... :-) ...
Did you know that Apple started the design process that way?! ... :-) ...
It’s the APPLE-HATER TROLLS who need the vacation ... :-) ...
Remember the Apple Big brother ad from the 80’s?
Now Apple IS Big brother to their loyal cult of followers.
I wouldn’t be caught dead with a Apple product.
I wouldn’t be caught dead with one, but I sure would be caught alive with one ... actually several!
love the upside down apple graphic. haha
The idea that it can barely get through a day without needing a recharge is cool too... recharging stuff every day is fun.
Can you do anything with it that you couldn't already do with your existing smartphone? Well no, so that's cool too.
But... despite the obvious drawbacks to wasting hundreds on a rather useless gimmick, we can prove to the world that we're cool and very progressive by sporting yet another gay Apple logo.
