San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon ordered an immediate internal investigation Thursday into what he called "disturbing" video showing an arrest by deputies after a horse pursuit that was caught on camera by NewsChopper4. Deputies appeared to use Tasers to stun a man and then beat him after the pursuit in San Bernardino County Thursday afternoon.
Aerial footage captured by NewsChopper4 showed the man falling off the horse, and then being stunned with a Taser by a sheriff's deputy. The man then appeared to fall to the ground with his arms outstretched. Two deputies immediately descended on him and began punching him in the head and kneeing him in the groin.
The group surrounding the man grew to 13 sheriff's deputies as several appeared to kick, hit, and punch him dozens of times over a two-minute period. In the two minutes after the man was stunned with a Taser, it appeared deputies kicked him 17 times and punched him 37 times and struck him with batons four times. Thirteen blows appeared to be to the head. The allegedly stolen horse stood idly nearby.

Way over the top.... Some have tried to justify it by saying that they used to shoot/hang horse thieves. They forget that back then, a horse might very well mean the difference between life and death.
Others claim that so many who get beaten/killed by cops deserve it, so it's OK to excuse the "occasional oopsie". Then, they claim to believe in and support the Constitution - idiots....
Our Republic is in deep trouble. This use to be a rare occasion, and now it seems like every other month we get a video.
Seems like the police have attracted A LOT of criminals, Sociopaths and Psychopaths?
I remember when the police were honorable. The good cops that are left are going to have to reverse course, and hold cops accountable. If not, then our country will slowly descend into chaos. Do today’s cops want to go down in history as the men that participated in the destruction of the U.S. Constitution and the Free Republic?
Obey the government or face its wrath.
I understand the thought, and actually to some degree sympathise with it. The problem is if they think it's acceptable in this case, they are much more likely to think it's proper to beat folks that you might be less supportive of them going off on.
They are not supposed to be judge, jury, and executioner. If you let them do it "sometimes" it's much harder to restrain them in other situations.
I want to see the mugshot.
If he survived...
“When it’s not just one bad apple you have to start thinking why so many of them have a problem. To me this suggests a problem from the top down in the police departments involved.”
And the problem here is that probably the majority of those categorized as “Police Leadership” are either elected or appointed, so they are mostly political hacks, not LEO’s. Just like School “Administrators” (AKA members of the largest group of migrant workers in this country), they have not always risen from the ranks.
