CALGARY - This knuckle sandwich wasn't on the menu.
Rocker Marilyn Manson reportedly received a Grand Slam of a different kind while visiting a southern Alberta Denny's over the weekend when he was punched in the face by another patron.
And contrary to media reports, the punch was unprovoked, said Johnny Scott, one of a handful of fans who were in Lethbridge, Alta., restaurant, located 210 km south of Calgary.
Manson arrived around 2:30 a.m. with a small group of people, including security and a driver, Scott said.
The punch happened after a girl called her boyfriend over to take a photo with the rocker.
"Manson never got a chance to sit down," he said.
"He was being friendly with everyone, anyone who wanted a picture, he would give them a picture, anyone who wanted an autograph he would give them an autograph.
"They were just talking and the guy just punched him right in the face without any provocation.
Celebrity website TMZ.com reported Manson allegedly called a woman in the restaurant a b----, resulting in her boyfriend punching him.
"He just took the shot and ran off right away," Scott said.
Scott said Manson's nose was bleeding after.
"I ended up hanging out with Marilyn Manson for a little while afterward ... he was pissed off because he was being nice."
Manson's security chased the attacker outside and police were called however no arrests were made.
Lethbridge police said in a release they were called to the eatery about 2:45 a.m. Sunday for reports of a "physical altercation."
"Three people were involved in the altercation which resulted in minor injuries," read the statement.
"No charges were laid and the file is concluded."
Police declined further comment.
Management at the Denny's also refused to comment.
Manson played a Saturday night show at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge as part of his Hell Not Hallelujah Tour.
Calls to Manson's representatives were not returned.
Did he order the Grand Slam Slugger?
Someone deserves a medal for that
I would be shocked if anyone knew who he was.
Denny’s? Really? Was the line up at the McDonald’s drive thru too long?
I went to church incognito. When everybody rose, the Reverend Smithy recognized me. And punched me in the nose.

The fans of those who attacked the Palin family at that party denied the host and others did anything violent (in spite of the homeowner's own admission in the police report). Biased witness testimony doesn't mean much.
Several gems in this...author has a good sense of humor.

For all we know, the altercation could have been staged to give the mid-forties performer some free publicity for his new album tour. Besides, I think a good punch in the face could only improve his looks.
Is that you, Alice?
What what?
Check out the comments, evidently Canadian Libtards thing Alberta is just like Texas, stupid rednecks stealing the world’s resources for a fat paycheck.
I don’t know how the woman was acting at the time but when and where I grew up a punch thrown after having your girlfriend called a “b____” wouldn’t be considered “unprovoked.”
I don’t get the whole celebrity (not that this thing is) picture thing. I have been around and associated with many people way more famous and better than this thing and never asked for a picture.
No more Mr. Nice Guy.
It’s not polite to punch a girl!
Nothing good ever happens at 2:30 AM at a Denny’s...
