Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) told CNNs State of the Union Sunday morning that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was doing more harm than good by his insistent efforts to turn the American public and lawmakers against President Barack Obamas nuclear deal with Iran, especially given his lack of alternative.
This can back backfire on him, Feinstein said. I wish that he would contain himself, because he has put out no real alternative. In his speech to the Congress no real alternative. Since then no real alternative.
Guest host Jim Acosta said Bibis alternative was tougher sanctions.
It depends on what you believe more sanctions is going to do, Feinstein said. More sanctions will certainly drive the program more underground, make it more difficult. If DiFi tells him to shut up, then obviously he should. It's interesting that sanctions, applied until Iran ceases the export of terror and recognizes Israel's right to exist doesn't count as an alternative. In my view the export of terror is a bigger threat to the US than a bomb, it should be at the top of Kerry's list.
