Babel was the origin of an idolatrous system that swept the world. The Bible says of her, Babylon the nations drank her wine; Therefore the nations are deranged (Jeremiah 51:7). idolatry originated in the area of Babyloniathe most ancient of religious systems.[8]
Basically, almost every vile, profane and idolatrous practice you can think of originated at Babel with Queen Easter/Ishtar (Semiramis), the Mother Goddess and Nimrod. As the people scattered from Babel with their different languages, they, of course, used different names for Nimrod (Tammuz) and Semiramis. Some called the Mother Goddess ISHTAR (originally pronounced Easter).[9] In other lands, she was called Eostre, Astarte, Ostera, and Eastre. Other names for Semiramis, the Mother Goddess include: Wife of Baal, Ashtaroth or Ashtoreth, and Queen of Heaven.[10] The Mother goddess was frequently worshipped as the goddess of fertilityand as a sort of Mother Nature and goddess of Spring and sexual love and birth. She was also worshipped as a mediator between god and man. Sexual orgies and temple prostitutes were often used in her worship and in attempting to gain her favor.

That's all I was pointing out. Some people may not have been aware of it.
Check and mate.
"I don't know why you're changing the subject. Oh, wait. Yes, I do. Because you know you've lost the argument. "
More proof that this whole thing is about you being right and getting everyone to agree with you.
Thanks for making my point. You're too transparent.
I'm not beating anyone over the head with anything.
I simply posted an article I found interesting.
Sheesh.
Shocking! On FreeRepulic.com no less!
O, the hugh manatee!
Are you familiar with the nature of this forum?
Wait. Is this an attempt at reverse psychology?
By using them we are honoring, endorsing and celebrating anti-Christian Paganism.
Or are you of the I-know-I-can't-win-this-argument-so-I'll-change-the-subject school of thought?
I'm one of the, 'let's have some fun on a non-serious issue thread', folk.
But, as long as you're there, can you toss up a few Hail Marys and a couple o' Our Fathers for me?
Just in case.
And if they're handing out little plastic easter eggs, try to get a hold of the green ones. They usually have money in them.
Read Mark 9:38-41 and try again.
And on Easter morning, of all days!
Shameful.
I still don't know what all the fuss is about. I simply posted an article about the origins of the word and made a comparison to a controversy that arises on another particular holiday.
Y'all took it and ran in all different directions with it.
It's not like I was trolling or anything.
It's not easter morning! It's Resurrection Morning.
Sheesh. How many times?
Thanks for being honest enough to admit that this thread is, in fact, all about you, and not about any genuine respect for Christ’s resurrection. Glad to get that out front.
In view of that, you go right on snarking, and you tell yourself that it’s appropriate to use the holiest of Christian holidays as an occasion to provoke and to stroke that ego of yours.
But I tell you what...I’ll say a prayer for you. I’ll also unwrap and eat a Dove dark chocolate egg in your honor.
Happy Easter to you!
The Easter Bunny came to my house today. In a large bag with his picture on it, was a beautifulul Easter Lily. The beauty and white purity remind me of the risen Christ. I have no grudge with the bunny.
Mark 9: 38-41
38 Teacher, said John, we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.
39 Do not stop him, Jesus said. For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40 for whoever is not against us is for us. 41 Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.
That's exactly what I'm trying to do!
I'm trying to drive out the demon of a Babylonian sex goddess from having anything to do with the Holiest day of the year.
How long, O, Lord?
