What a waste.

Since Florida stopped all the utility mandated incentives the solar industry has ground to a halt.

Obama’s step two will be upp’ing the fed incentives and more free fed money for construction.

It would be more accurate to say that the republican controlled Florida govt imposed a regulation that prevents solar companies from benefitting from incentives on solar panel leasing to homeowners. Most all solar installations today are being done as leases in which the solar company collects the incentive, which enables the solar company to pass on the savings to the homeowner in the rate they charge the homeowner. This enables the homeowner to install rooftop solar with out the capital investment, because the solar company is making the capital investment.

This is not just in Florida, all GOP controlled state govts are throwing up barriers trying to shut down solar.

The only republican states with much solar are LA, AZ, and Utah. And even there they have more recently begun to throw up barriers. Its an ideology thingy.

Eventually the dam will break. A few utilities have begun to offer limited solar leasing plans to homeowners. At some time the utilities will shift and figure out that roof top leasing plans are a better capital investment than new coal fired plants and more transmission lines.

Rules prevent solar panels in many states with abundant sunlight
