Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders. We sell no product or service. We have no clients, customers or employees. We do not accept paid advertising. Free Republic is not affiliated with any political party, group, news source, government agency or anyone else.
Free Republic is not a traditional business. We are a political discussion forum and independent grassroots conservative activist group supported by donations from our readers and participants. When and if our participants decide we are no longer needed or viable, we will close down shop and go away.
Free Republic operates on an approximate $360,000 annual budget (click for breakdown) which includes all equipment costs, bandwidth fees, consulting and labor costs, administrative costs, license fees, insurance, rents, communications costs, office expenses, advertising, travel, professional fees, banking and credit card fees, taxes, etc. Like most labor intensive organizations, the bulk of our costs are personnel related. We have one general manager and webmaster, one systems, programming and computer guru, one programming and management assistant and one bookkeeper/business administrator. The four of us are all members (partners) of the LLC. We own and operate our own servers and our proprietary software was developed and is maintained inhouse.
Free Republic is not a charity or IRS non-profit organization. We do not raise funds for charitable purposes or causes. We raise funds solely to cover our operating costs, labor, and all applicable state and federal income and payroll taxes.

I know it seems like only yesterday that our 1st Quarter FReepathon was still underway, but there's a cure for that and it goes like this:

It's a fact that were only half of you wonderful, loyal, awesome FReepers and regular users to Donate $10, $15, $20, $25, $30 or more Monthly, we'd have no need for FReepathons!
Additionally, our 300 Club is a roaring success!! IIRC, approximately 235 wonderful, awesome FReeper-Patriots made individual donations between $100.00 - $2,500 during our 1st Quarter FReepathon!
Per FReeper I_be_tc's 300/$100 challenge from a couple of years back, FR looks for 300 loyal FReepers to Donate $100 or more per quarter.
By contributing at least $100 per quarter or $400 per year to Free Republic, you qualify to become a member of the "300 Club!" You may contribute any combination of Monthly and/or one-time contributions by Credit Card, Mail-In Check or Money Order.
I know you all have heard this before, but it remains true: we're going to need Free Republic and each other now more than ever and throughout Election 2016!! It's imperative for us to see to the election of a "courageous Conservative" if our Republic is going to be saved from the evil demonic-rats and the wimpy GOP-e.
We must continue to faithfully pray to God Almighty that our Republic can withstand the remaining 20 months of Ayatollah Obama's tyranny and also pray that he's not afforded any SCOTUS appointments.
Like he is aware, we're also all aware that he's earned and deserved impeachment several times over, but that it will never happen. Democrats and their media cohorts would all howl in unison so the gutless, wimpy GOP-e won't dare follow the Constitution, nor even utter the word "impeach."
Primary Season holds extraordinary promise, so we will need to promote our Conservatives and please let's try our level best to "support" the good guys and refrain from shredding a good guy, just because we support a worthy rival. Legitmate short fallings are fine to point out and debate, but stupid 3 year old claims of "he's for amnesty," or "he's not eligible because he's Canadian born," are not legitimate. No useful purpose is served by bludgeoning our good guys. That's the delightful job of MSM.In addition to your ideas and opinions, Free Republic needs and depends upon everyone to contribute monetarily, so unless you're willing to Donate huge sums to make up for those you run-off, please refrain from attacking new members, just because they're new. We were all noobs at one time. FReepers are the smartest and most intelligent men and women on the whole of the Internet, and many of you are quoted and noted by worthy others, so please always bear that in mind.
In closing, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, make your best effort to make your Donation ASAP, at least sometime THIS MONTH! We have lost some of our Team Members for this FReepathon because they're worn out from 2 month long FReepathons. I can't be here as often nor as regularly as I want and love to be this time either, because I'm scraping off wall paper, painting, selling some furnishings, packing and trying to get my house ready to put on the market by mid May.
