A former executive of a medical device company says a video of him bullying a Chick-fil-A employee has destroyed his career. Adam Smith once earned more than $200,000 a year as the chief financial officer of Tuscon-based Vante. The married father of four is now unemployed and living on food stamps three years after his videotaped rant went viral online.
In the video, Smith berates a Chick-fil-A employee for working at a company that supports anti-gay organizations.
"Chick-Fil-A is a hateful corporation," Smith said. "I don't know how you live with yourself and work here. I don't understand it. This is a horrible corporation with horrible values. You deserve better."
At the time, Chick-fil-A was facing a huge public backlash for its financial support of anti-gay groups and for the company president's remarks against gay marriage.
Smith was promptly fired from his job.
"I got into work and the receptionist, the first thing, big eyes, 'Adam, what did you do?' ... she said, 'The voicemail is completely full, and it's full of bomb threats,'" Smith told ABC News.

No matter how many times I see this posted, it brings me great joy.
I think about the woman this creep harrased and I admire her dignity and composure.
My guess: because the memory is the second thing to go. *snicker*

None of your links are to the story written in the article in this post.
I’m surprised some people still don’t know how Free Republic “works.”
When a news story happens, many different authors and news/web/blog sites will write a article about the piece of news.
Some here seem to want only one thread on each news story, even if there are different takes and perspectives and view points in the various writings about the event.
It’s always good to read more than one thread from one scource to piece together what really happened.
Free Republic has operated like that since it’s beginning.
If people want just one one version of a news story, they can watch the MSN.
Sure there were too many about this, but so what?
Some did disappear or were linked to previous ones, especially if they were the same article from the same source.
Do you think Dan Rather would have been outed by a member here at Free Republic if only one story was posted here?
Or do you think Gore would have been stopped from stealing the presidential election years ago if there was only on story on it?
Free Republic was very instrumental in stopping the dem machine from putting Gore in the White House.
Waiting for someone to yell at me, “Get off my lawn!” LOL!
Thanks. You just saved me the time of clicking through all those useless links and wondering what happened.
Right then, here’s a summation so you don’t have to click on any more “useless” links. Including any future ones concerning this incident, despite you mentioning that you had not read it yet so were pleased that more than one thread existed.
“Former CFO now unemployed and on food stamps after his rant against Chick-fil-A went viral”
All the links lead to an article about it, and new threads will as well. Have a great day!
Hey, I’m not too big to apologize when I’ve made a mistake. Sorry.
No worries. There’s a new thread up as well. :)
I could see them doing that. But the Gay Mafia would never show the same compassion. They would just keep hounding till death and then celebrate that.
hire him to do what? Put fried chicken in a sack and wish the customers a good day?
Would you buy a sandwich from that guy?
If any Chick-Fil-A franchise owner hired him, there is no way I would patronize that establishment. Along with worrying about him preaching to everyone about the “intolerance” and gay-phobia that the parent company outrages him by seeming to stand by such attitudes, I would be EXTREMELY worried about him adding his own “special sauce” to any and all products produced in that establishment.
NO thank you!
I watched the video, it is certainly not a very intelligent or articulate rant, he just keeps repeating the word “hate” over and over again. It sounds like a video recorded by someone in jr. high, so maybe that is the reason he hasn’t been hired!
Perhaps the guy has hit is Road to Damascus moment.
