Haaretz - so far left on most occasions that it would make the CPUSA’s American red rag, “Peoples Weekly World” seem like the Washington Times.
Most of the others are left/center to farther left. A result of a deeply ingrained socialist strain in many of the original founders of Israel.
THAT IS WHY THE SOVIET UNION VOTED TO ADMIT A NEWLY BORN ISRAEL TO THE UN. THEY HOPED TO HAVE A MARXIST-ORIENTED STATE IN THE MIDDLE EAST FROM WHICH TO SPREAD THEIR OPERATIONS.
By the way, one of Obama’s top Middle East advisors, Robert Malley, had a father Simon who was a founder of one of three Egyptian Communist Parties in 1948 (all would have been pro-Moscow as Red China didn’t exist at that time). THe whole family was expelled from France in the 1970’s or early 80’s as security risks because of their father’s pro-SOviet (probably KGB funded project) publication “L”Asia-Afrique”.
Wonder how the boy ever got a security clearance to act unofficially as Obama’s secret contact with Assad and Hamas, as well as working for Pres. Clinton? Now he’s back as a key Middle East advisor. See: “JNS.ORG, March 9, 2015, article “Obama campaign adviser fired after Hamas revelation is back — in the White House!, www.theamericanmirror.com.
Malley is now a Senior Director at the National Security Council and just named as “Special Assistant to the President and White House Coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf Region”, according to this article.
We need more on Malley.
I recall stories early in the Clinton administration about many brought in few thought could pass a typical background investigation for any sort of security clearance. There was a time when anyone joining the military and needing a clearance higher than “secret” would be investigated thoroughly, with investigators contacting former teachers and acquaintances in their home towns.
I think a lot a of the traditional requirements for security clearances were simply abandoned during the Clinton years and certainly for Obama, also.
When a couple of recent presidents and their administrations have had little regard for US national security in a traditional sense, then I guess anything goes when it comes to individual background investigations and security clearances.
