There's something very dangerous happening in states across the country.
A wave of legislation, introduced in more than two dozen states, would allow people to discriminate against their neighbors. Some, such as the bill enacted in Indiana last week that drew a national outcry and one passed in Arkansas, say individuals can cite their personal religious beliefs to refuse service to a customer or resist a state nondiscrimination law.
Others are more transparent in their effort to discriminate. Legislation being considered in Texas would strip the salaries and pensions of clerks who issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples even if the Supreme Court strikes down Texas' marriage ban later this year. In total, there are nearly 100 bills designed to enshrine discrimination in state law.
These bills rationalize injustice by pretending to defend something many of us hold dear. They go against the very principles our nation was founded on, and they have the potential to undo decades of progress toward greater equality.
America's business community recognized a long time ago that discrimination, in all its forms, is bad for business. At Apple, we are in business to empower and enrich our customers' lives. We strive to do business in a way that is just and fair.
That's why, on behalf of Apple, I'm standing up to oppose this new wave of legislation wherever it emerges. I'm writing in the hopes that many more will join this movement. From North Carolina to Nevada, these bills under consideration truly will hurt jobs, growth and the economic vibrancy of parts of the country where a 21st-century economy was once welcomed with open arms.

Nice. In the meantime, you want to be judged only by how well you do your job. Funny set of rules you've got there.
Well, I think Obama can’t go soon enough! And Obama is looking for the destruction of Israel ... and I’ve posted a lot of articles here on Free Republic on that very thing!
I get discriminated against all the time: when I try to shop without shoes or shirt, when I try to shop at 10 PM after they closed at 9 PM, when I am visibly intoxicated and the bar refuses to serve me another, yadda yadda.
Take your business where both buyer and seller agree to the transaction, it’s not that difficult of a concept. Yay Indiana, fight the good fight regarding the truth.
I just don’t want to talk to useless APPLE-HATER TROLLS like you!
Cook would have sided with Ernst Rohm.
I think the USA and the rest of the world is clearly on track for the coming AntiChrist, which God allows to come, take over control of the world, and then judges him and his “system” during the 7-Year Tribulation, as we see in the Book of Revelation. That’s coming ... that’s for sure ... and we see more signs of it everyday.
Yes, we’re past a Christian society, but we’re not past giving out the Gospel of Salvation which comes from Jesus, the Messiah of Israel. That goes on all the way up to the time of the return of the Messiah of Israel!
Life is hard, outside of the echo chamber.
Get lost! APPLE-HATER TROLLS are useless posters!
I am still trying to figure out how a perverse and self-destructive behavior got civil rights.
You have to understand their sickness. To them, two guys getting married is the same as a black guy in a diner in Alabama in 1962.
They will not rest until that is LAW.
Homofascism is on the march, with the gay CEO of the world’s largest corporation now stepping forward as a prime advocate.
I do buy products that are better than Apple products. They do not limit me and they do not support liberalism with comments like Cook's. In fact, they fight for privacy.
Then your criteria is different than the majority of smartphone users in the USA ... we can say that much ... as Apple is the Number One smartphone manufacturer in the USA.
And that’s fine if your criteria is different than the majority ... in any other manufacturer ... you gotta give those other product makers “some money” even if they do have an inferior product. I mean the fact that Apple has 93% of the smartphone market’s profits (and that’s for ALL smartphones on the market) ... says that the vast majority of money from consumers is going to Apple!
And, I don’t care if you want to buy that other product ... it’s you that suffering and not me ... LOL ...
I own a good many Apple products: 27” iMac, 15” MacBook Pro with Retina, iPad, iPod, 3 iPhones and much more.
~~ I will not purchase another Apple product until Tim Cook is removed and Apple repudiates him. ~~
Coming soon ... iDildo!
soon to be released
The difference is that today's liberals are fighting for the law to force the cook to have sex with the two guys on the diner table.
LOL
Now you’re not joking ... you are turining into one of those USELESS TROLLS ... I’ve made it absolutely clear in my many other posts on Free Republic (and even one just made a few minutes ago on Homosexuality) that God is against it and we are not to say it’s okay, at all. That includes me!
If you’re going to be LYING about me, then I don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore!
It won’t happen because Tim Cook does happen to be doing good business as far as the Apple Products themselves are concerned. All that is going to happen with any political stance that Tim Cook takes with this law is simply going to result in absolutely nothing happening. It’s not going to change the law, because that’s something that voters wanted.
SO ... I know this griping and complaining by Cook is going to come to nothing, and I intend to still buy Apple Products based on the fact that I buy products for what they do ... and then ... I vote for how I want my legislators to vote while in office and I support legislation based on conservative views and against Homosexuality.
AND THEN ... which I give money to organizations for supporting them as an organization — MONEY FOR NOTHING (that is not in exchange for purchasing a product) — I give money to the organizations that I listed ... in my Post #57 ...
Interesting that you only find people useful if they'll drink the Apple Kool-Aid.
