In those twenty-odd years spent in the Air Force and using their gym services...I’ve only seen two accidents with ‘equipment’. I watched a guy stumble on the treadmill while jogging and it threw the guy back against the wall (ambulance required but nothing broke). And I’ve seen a cable come loose on a weight machine. To sustain both broken ribs and serious damage to his eye socket....it just doesn’t fit any type of conceivable accident with gym equipment.
If you ask me...the better story to say was that you fell down a stairway. That might make better sense.
