I am a person of a certain mixed heritage and had a buddy once in my last NG unit in Wash D.C. and the guy was a mixed mutt who was in the marines as an NCO ( Part black, white Italian, and Spanish), they guy could be a real dick sometimes but the one thing he said was do not let anyone tell you different but there are plenty of black bigots, they are not mentioned a lot though, and I did agree. I saw a good chunk of folks calling people cracker and the like. and other things, also I will admit I did my share of avoiding and walking around certain people and yeah that including dark skinned persons who looked like thugs, I do not call it safe hate I call it just being safe till I am proven otherwise.
Here in the NYC metro area we learned the lesson in black bigotry decades ago, when some imported Jamaican shot up white people on the Long Island Railroad and another black guy killed white people in a store because they were “white interlopers”.
I guess the rest of the country is catching up.
