Why Ted Cruz Is More Electable Than You Think

Ted Cruz is the candidate most likely to take our country from where it's arrived under the leadership of President Obama to where it should be - in the hands of "We the People." His authenticity and consistency are just two of the advantages he has over the rest of the field-in-waiting. He says what he means, he means what he says, and Washington knows it.

Expectedly, the knives are out against Sen. Cruz, and they're coming from both sides of the aisle. There's no doubt in my mind however, many of those knives will be dulled once the presidential debates begin. Critics have begun questioning Cruz's experience, intentions, judgment, likeability and overall appeal. However, if Sen. Cruz can persuade "establishment voters" of his electability, illustrate his in depth understanding of the separation of powers, communicate how silly it is to compare his tenure in the senate to that of President Obama's, and continue to stand against the progressive left who are determined to expand the powers of the federal government (particularly the executive branch) he could be America's last best hope.

The only thing worse than establishment politicians are establishment voters that habitually fill in the ballot for their party candidate no matter how many promises he or she breaks. Why? Because they don't want to see "their guy" from their party lose. Unequivocally they buy into the same old establishment arguments from the media and the parties themselves. For example: "he's unelectable," "he's too extreme" or "he doesn't have enough experience." The latter would be a valid argument if the country's moral decadence and federal deficits hadn't skyrocketed during the reign of experienced politicians.

I appreciate the executive experience that governors bring to a presidential race, but state politics are unlike Washington politics. Governors practice activism on behalf of their state; presidents should practice restraint for the betterment of their country. There's something to be said about a legislator that has operated in the belly of the beast and remained true to himself and his constituents. What makes Sen. Cruz unique is that he's well acquainted with arguing cases in front of the Supreme Court as Solicitor General. He did so nine times. He's shown courage, conviction and efficiency working within both the judicial and legislative arms of our federal government amounting to two-thirds of our government! Why shouldn't we believe he's capable to lead the executive branch?

It is a fact that Obama lacked executive experience. However, it's unfair to say his lack of experience is exclusively why America is in such disarray, and as a result, it's why we should only elect governors to the White House. The country is in bad shape because we have a president who doesn't believe in its founding, or our Constitution. His leanings are not partisan or political, rather they are ideological. Therefore, the decisions he's made -and I'd argue seeming lack of decisions- are consistent with his proclivity to root against the best interest of America.

On the other side of the spectrum stands Senator Cruz who believes in American Exceptionalism and constitutional originalism. I'm confident that a man with such convictions will make for a great president.

As far as electability is concerned, it never ceases to amaze me when voters on the right agree with elitists of the GOP who listen to left-wing pundits. All it takes to make the unelectable electable is your vote companied with a little retail politics. Those of us on the right get what we deserve when we allow the leftists in both parties to pick our candidates. Being informed about the candidates is more crucial than ever. As iron sharpens iron so will the debates sharpen our candidates' ability to frame their messages effectively. I suspect being a champion debater from Harvard, Sen. Cruz will have an edge on the others in the field.

I'm eager to see Sen. Rand Paul, Gov. Scott Walker, Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. Marco Rubio and even former Sen. Rick Santorum jump into the race. But, if you were to ask me today, "who is the candidate most likely to reclaim our Judeo-Christian heritage and right the wrongs that Republicans and Democrats alike have levied on our nation at the expense of our Constitution?" Hands down my answer would be presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz.

Carl Jackson seems to think so. This quite an opinion piece, I could not have written this article on Senator Cruz any better, even sober. Who is this guy, I will watch for more from him.

Neither the Declaration nor the Constitution can interpret themselves, nor is the Declaration the ultimate standard for interpreting the Constitution. By invoking the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" the 56 signers of the Declaration incorporated a legal standard of freedom into the forms of government that would follow. The theory of freedom adopted was simply that God's law was supreme and gave freedom. The phrase "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" referred to the laws that God in his capacity as the Creator of the universe had established for the governance of people, nations and nature. These laws are variously described as the laws of Creation, God's Creation laws or as the framers elected to refer to them, as the laws of nature and of nature's God. This body of law, whatever it is called, can be ascertained by people through an examination of God's creation, the text of the Bible, and to a certain degree, instinct or reason.

At this point there can be little doubt that the Framers of our Constitution considered both Blackstone and Vattel, and they choose Vattel over Blackstone. The Founding Fathers placed into Constitutional concept that the loyalty of a Natural Born Citizen is a loyalty can never be claimed by any foreign political power. The only political power that can exclusively claim the loyalty of a natural born citizen is that power that governs of his birth. Vattel by including the parents and place removes all doubt as to where the loyalties of the natural born citizen ought to lie, as Vattel’s definition removes all claims of another foreign power by blood or by soil, and is the only definition that is in accord with Jay’s letter to Washington.

I’ve often thought that Newt Gingrich is probably the most articulate speaker of our party. When he speaks, we learn something. Unfortunately, he was gunned down quickly, plus he didn’t look presidential anymore.

Now we have someone who may well be just as articulate in defining on simple terms conservative principles mixed in with a little history about our gov’t and teach us again of why people come here to live.

Yes, we may see early on in the debates evangelicals out there, esp women, to support Ten Cruz. My only concern is his understanding of the world. Who ever takes office will see a world vastly different from eight years ago.

No. Each candidate brings a point to the table. We need Fiorina to go after Hillary. We need Rubio and Rand and Walker to articulate their views. THEN we coalesce around one person, hopefully at this point it’s Cruz.

I think you are speaking for millions of us...nicely put. I think the president should be someone you learn from. Everytime Newt spoke during the primaries, he said something profound and it was almost always spontaneous. He spoke about the present and interweaved a little bit of history into it.

I think Ronald Reagan could do that quite well in his first term. I pray Ted Cruz can do this too. I see many similarities to him and Reagan. People forget that Bush was the candidate of the party. I think he even won NH. It was not until Reagan one over the democrats and others to vote for him.

The Republican establishment is comprised of men who are older than 70 and living in the 20th century. They are outdated, jaded and corrupted by lobbyists. This party needs someone of the 21st century with enthusiasm, energy and passion for conservative values to renew our goals of individual liberty and limited government. Cruz appears to fit the bill.

No. When they attempted to attack Newt, it was the media that was at a distinct disadvantage. It will be the same with Cruz...

Perhaps the tragic pageant that has transpired with Barack Obama was intended to get a torpid America moving again out of its stupor. America got full of itself, and forgot God. Cruz, if successful, will put an end to “forgot God.” For a while.

Liberals aren’t out of sheer outer space. They have taken a good thing — grace and mercy — in God’s plan and bent it to a wicked will, with the dual result of robbing it of its power and making it appear to be odious and thus hateable.

I said this on another thread. I was at the Cruz New Hampshire event this week and heard him speak about his TX senate campaign. The first thing he did was distribute to his team David Plouffe's book outlining Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. He ran a very grass roots entrepreneurial campaign, going to churches instead of country clubs, giving widespread freedom to local groups. He was outspent 5-6 to 1, had the elites and the party establishment behind Dewhurst, and Cruz still won.

For example, he gave a speech in NY later and the left organized a Twitter hashtag "cruzyoulose" campaign and with no direction from the Cruz team a grassroots "Cruztovictory" campaign not only swamped it, but became the second largest trending hashtag in the world.

I know some conservatives who love Cruz but suffer from the same “he’s unelectable” nonsense. We can extend his legs via cash input for now and expanding it to local work on the ground later on.

BONNIE PRINCE JEB HAS THE CASH AND CONTROL OF IT. BUT TED CRUZ HAS THE BASE AND GRASSROOTS WHICH CAN RAISE A LOT OF CASH IN A FLASH. HE WON’T BE AMERICA’S LAST BEST HOPE. BUT HE IS WHAT AMERICA NEEDS RIGHT NOW AT THIS TIME IN ITS HISTORY.

TED CRUZ IS THE CAPTAIN THAT WILL RIGHT THE SINKING SHIP THAT IS AMERICA. OTHERS THAT COME AFTER HIM WILL HAVE A SEAWORTHY SHIP TO RUN THANKS TO TED CRUZ AND HIS POLITICAL FORCES.
