If Spain hadn’t entered the region when it did, what is now the Philippines would probably be entirely Muslim, under the rule of the Sultanate of Sulu. My guess is that the country’s Muslims have, as their long-term goal, the eventual subjugation of the entire country under Islam.
The long term goal of Islam is for the whole world to submit to Islam.
It’s in their book.
