No. Reason did not report this (you need to go to the USAToday story referenced by Reason to find it), the principal’s justification for this was a written policy against “mohawk haircuts or other extreme cuts.”
I don’t think this is a mohawk or extreme, but Reason is showing how out of touch with the truth “journalism” has become. That was a point that should have been in their article.
The first time I saw this story, there was a photo of the boy and his haircut...It was no “mohawk”...It was very clean-cut about 1/2 inch long with the area around the ears cut tight...

Maybe, but the rainbow Mohawk I described could considered queer, plus his overt discrimination against the Mohawks could be considered racist, on the part of the principal.
