I always wondered why men are given a hard time for doing traditionally feminine jobs such as nurses, stewardesses, waitresses and hairdressers. Yet women who do what are traditionally masculine jobs like steelworker, firemen, prison guards and auto mechanics, etc., are hailed as heroes.
My flight instructor was a steward for British Airways. Good guy, straight, and he now flies jets for a living.
Most of the stewards are light in slippers but he was as straight as can be.
