No, it doesn’t sound like he’s gay. It sound more like schoolyard “gay” taunts from other pilots because he started off as a Flight attendant and worked his way up to the cockpit.
What’s troubling is the airline couldn’t spot a guy who was “burned out” 7 years ago at the tender age of 21, had doctors issue many sick notes, on powerful mess, a girlfriend who didn’t report his plan of a “heinous act,” the airline letting a guy with 600 hours in the right seat, etc. What a colossal stream of cock-ups.
Yeah, but he was willing to work cheap.
Not amazing that airline couldn’t spot this. All airlines stress out pilots with inhuman working schedules. Forget where I saw the article, but there will probably be more — or should be.

The current thinking is 'protect' the poor mental case at the expense of innocents who suffer because NO ONE has the guts to insist that red flags and warnings should go out to ALL who are connected to the nutjob. If they keep their 'depression' and psychoses to themselves we get blindsided by this. I doubt that this murderers employers, family, etc would have 'offended' him if they had been informed. They would have protected him, not wanted to see him lose his job, etc. So 150 people get splattered on a mountainside, like little kids got massacred in a school, all because we have too much pity for the 'sick', protect them, insist on treating them as 'normal', and innocents suffer because of this misplaced and gutless sympathy. The family and friends should have informed his job, the DOCTORS should have kept his employer informed of EVERYTHING they knew as they learned it. You don't trust a mentally defective person to tell on himself.
Better to deny the 'rights' of one mental case then to pick up bodies because of them.
