Do they think we’re all morons out here? It is impossible to “wipe a server clean”.
The "server" is merely the system - a bunch of components.
Swap out the hard drive, send the old drive out for "Lernerization", and voila... server Clean!
Just swap out the hard drive. You do use swapable HD trays right?
It is possible to wipe it clean. But if she REALLY wanted to destroy everything on that server she would have the hard drives shredded and have new ones put in to make it LOOK like she wiped it clean.
These are criminals we are dealing with, so the odds are the drives are shredded.
Do a google search on "dban"(Darik's boot and nuke). It's a Linux program that makes 3 passes on a hard drive. The first pass it writes all 0's. The second pass it writes all 1's. The third pass it writes all blanks. Nothing survives. Viruses, trojans, malware - all gone. Before I switched to solid state drives I used to dban my hard drive every 3 to 6 months.
Not with a hammer and a furnace.
