Killer co-pilot Andreas Lubitz was signed off by two different doctors for the day of the Germanwings disaster but failed to tell his employers, it has been reported.
The claims from German newspaper The Rheinische Post come after it emerged Lubitz may have crashed his plane due to fears he was about to lose his licence on medical grounds.

Me either. Horrible. And mental illness neither excuses nor explains the depravity of a man who greeted that mother and baby when they entered the plane. Sick and getting sicker. A terrorist act if ever there was one.

So he decided to kill himself and a whole plane full of people with him? Well, if he was upset over maybe being stigmatized for mental illness, he has certainly helped to contribute to the perception that the mentally ill are dangerous.
I will not judge a person for killing themselves due to depression or mental illness. I have some sympathy for them.
I will never have any sympathy for a loser who decided to take 150 other people with him when he decided to kill himself.

HIPPA doesn’t apply if you are ordered by the employer to take a medical exam as a condition of employment status.
Sports teams do it every day. Medical guy can keep you on the bench if you fail the concussion protocol.
If this was an employee mandated physical, then the employer should have been notified after the results of the exam were compiled, and before the person examined was notified of their status.
This is done precisely to prevent what happened in this situation. If you fail a mandated psych exam, then your keycard should suddenly malfunction. Somebody should then take you back to an office, where you are informed of your status, given your options for appeal, and then escorted out of the facility.

Color me skeptical, but I cannot imagine a circumstance in which a pilot on a plane takes an ax to the cockpit door & doesn't alarm passengers.
University Hospital Dusseldorf acknowledged treating Lubitz but dismissed as “incorrect” media reports that it was for depression. The facility refused to say what Lubitz was being treated for, citing patient confidentiality.
The hospital said Friday Lubitz visited the clinic for “diagnostic clarifications” in February and, most recently, on March 10.

I know that so far they have not uncovered anything that connects him to Islam, but I can’t shake the feeling that he is connected. I don’t believe anyone involved with radical Islam is sane. My worry is that they may cover it up. Anytime White House Officials have rushed to the microphone to say something is not terrorism, they’ve been lying.

Yeah, I think the feeling is that killing 150 people when you’re committing suicide, is what causes people to note that the killing 150 shows his psychosis.
