I disagree with this. Class action lawsuits have one benefit for businesses. Once it is settled, then no more claims of those who (allegedly) suffered the harm can join the class and file a claim.
While they are big bucks, they prevent death from 1000 cuts from hundreds of individual cases regarding the same claim. Better the class action, then 25000 individual court cases.
I recently received notification I could join one and get money from a rental car company because they had in error “listed the local governments airport fee (tax)separately on the invoice as opposed to burying it in their charge. Not sure how I was harmed. It is a SCAM industry which is another way for attorneys to siphon off their cut
