Prosecutors in the western city of Duesseldorf said they seized medical documents from the home of 27-year-old Andreas Lubitz that indicate “an existing illness and appropriate medical treatment”.
Prosecutor Ralf Herrenbrueck said in a statement Friday that torn-up sick notes for the day of the crash “support the current preliminary assessment that the deceased hid his illness from his employer and colleagues”.
Herrenbrueck said the search of Lubitz’s home revealed no suicide note or evidence of any political or religious motivation for his actions. He did not say what illness the co-pilot had.

I think an ongoing illness (mental or otherwise) is a likelier angle than the reports about his being a recent convert to the ROP.

According to German daily Bild, Lubitz had been the recipient of a “specific and regular medical treatment” ever since his bout of depression in 2009.

Bild said psychologists were due to examine his medical record and documents provided by the airline on Friday.
Medical treatment might have been “appropriate” but it only works if you use it.

Several sources mention the angle involving relationship issues with his girlfriend. Anyone know if this alleged “girlfriend” has been located safe and sound yet? After all, Andreas Guenter Lubitz, calmly and methodically took an entire plane full of passengers on his suicide mission.

If this guy lived in Germany and they found a note excusing him from work on the day of the crash, but the plane took off from Spain, how did he get a note excusing him on that very day???
Was he in Germany in the morning, flew to Spain, then took off from Spain and decided to kill everyone on the way home?
