Also, Holmes was a ne’er do well and a loner, wasn’t he? Lubitz was an airline pilot for Lufthansa, explicitly cleared for this station by a psychological evaluation. Isn’t that a problem for the “just nuts” theory ?

To me, this crime, or act, what you will, has put us into new territory.

If you read through the numerous articles on the subject you will find he took something like six months off in either 2008 or 2009 for DEPRESSION - and was subsequently cleared as fit to fly. During the time off, he would certainly have been under the care of a professional, and probably prescribed medication.
You haven’t been given his entire medical history, so you can’t say he wasn’t seeing a psychiatrist.
And psychiatrists do PRESCRIBE.

Yes, this crime puts us into new territory. Holmes might also have been new territory. Flesh and blood robots possibly.
