Why is former U.S. President Andrew Jackson still on the $20 bill, as opposed to suitable candidates like Rosa Parks, Betty Friedan, or Sojourner Truth?
Sure, the 7th President of the United States may have been a decorated Revolutionary War hero, who helped to defeat the invading British as a major general in the War of 1812, but as President, Jackson oversaw a lot of herculean accomplishments. Are they still relevant?
Two centuries later, is the decorated Hero of New Orleans still worthy of decorating our currency? Thats a question being asked by actress Susan Sarandon, along with other gender equality advocates, as part of the Women on 20s campaign, which is determined to have Old Hickory replaced on the $20 bill by one of 15 prominent women the group has chosen from Americas past.
Sarandon supported the movement Tuesday when she posted a photo of herself holding some cash on Twitter:
The groups website reads: Women On 20s aims to compel historic change by convincing President Obama that NOW is the time to put a womans face on our paper currency. But who should it be? We believe thats for you, the public, to decide from a slate of 15 inspiring American women heroes.
So why kick old King Mob off of the bill? According to the group, not only was Jackson a racially motivated warmonger, responsible for killing countless Native Americans, but he was also an opponent of the central banking system.
Women on 20s is asking visitors to vote on which historical female icon should take Jacksons place on the double sawbuck. Names include Eleanor Roosevelt, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Barbara Jordan, Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman and Susan B. Anthony, to name a few.

Then it probably grew, just like her implants....snicker.
Sorry, just smacked me in the face when I opened the page and hit me wrong, lol. By the way - I am a woman.
Wow, it’s the 50 Ft. Woman, actual size.
LOL
I tried to find one of her with more clothes on...weren’t too many. I swear the preview was more a thumbnail.
What about Barney Frank?
Neither was Hamilton.
Back in the 1970’s and early 80’s she was good looking babe, I saw her in film in 1982 called “Tempest” with John Cassavetes and she looked pretty hot then. Hard to believe she is almost 70 now.
I love her cupcakes.
You’re right he did sympathize with Commies
He only spent one month of his life outside of institutions except his brief time on the run
Not much time to be a real world Commie
Just read it in books
Not much different than most Commies here in that regard
I was in Manhattan then
Followed his celebrity and case quite a bit
Never was any talk about his politics but I notice he does drone his admiration of Stalin and Mao in his letters
Pitiful life
Hey susan, people in hell want ice water too.
You have damn good taste in autos.
Susan WHO???
Ummmm....trying to find my 'lie detector' gif, but will have to give you a pass on that, lol.
“I want Susan Sarandon replaced with a woman.”
I guess that’s what Tim Robbins wanted too. This woman has had one husband (no children) and three “boyfriends” with whom she has had three children., so I guess to us ordinary folks, she’s just a slut.
And don't start on Gere and the Gerbil. That was a filthy rumor started by a jealous Sly Stallone after they once worked together. Stallone now admits it. GOOGLE IT.
We will then have our first woman and our first "transgender" on American currency. Everybody will be happy. And as politically correct society has taught us, a man wanting to be a woman has even more rights and privileges than an actual woman.
I know nuttink about Gere und die gergil!
But, how can ein gergil be part of a Sylvester Stallone filthy rumour?
I, think they’re both mediocre as actors and people. Even if, in your opinion, they can act, they shouldn’t be given any benefit of the doubt that they actually have brains.
You can dream about her all you want, ...like big-mount Cher, I never thought she was attractive.
1 Washington
2 Jefferson
5 Lincoln
10 Hamilton
20 Jackson
50 Grant
100 Franklin
500 McKinley
1,000 Cleveland
5,000 Madison
10,000 Chase (Salmon P. Chase, Treasury Secretary under Lincoln)
100,000 Wilson
A woman is on the 1 dollar coin.
Maybe Pocahontas.
Then if Liz Warren gets to be the first woman President, after her death they can replace Pocahontas with Fauxcahontas.
