Controlled descent with one pilot seems to indicate suicide/terrorism. Unlikely the flight deck lost pressure at exact moment a pilot left it.
I don't know how long the pilot was pounding on the door, but they were were at 32,000. Here is what happens at 25.
25,000 feet. Forget it! Blood saturation has now dropped to lethal levels.
Time of useful consciousness is three to six minutes with death
following not long after that. Above this altitude, suffering a rapid
decompression may also result in a condition divers know as the bends and
various other pressure related maladies. Remember, this is only HALF as
high as some modern civilian aircraft are certified to fly!
Controlled descent actually contradicts suicide or terrorism, unless the pilot in charge actually was aiming for a specific target. None was apparent. Lots of rocks and nothing else at the impact point.
Terrorism would usually involve the terrorist making a statement claiming a cause. The whole goal of a terrorist attack is to gain attention and an audience.
A suicidal person most likely would take the shortest route from 38K to the ground, not an 8 minute descent.
Drugs may be involved. The pilot in the cockpit scammed the other pilot out to take drugs unwitnessed. Could have been an OD or the pilot was just out of it. That scenario doesn't account for a controlled descent though.
There is also rampant speculation in the thread about the pilot in charge being disabled due to health issues. That happens but would be an exrtrordinary coincidence.
