You're right. Vatstats is a hack. It's a site devoted to flight simulator enthusiasts (
VATSIM — the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation network). Mixed in with FlightAware, it looked real. Someone must have added the fictional pilot #1107082 with an interesting and incomplete itinerary.
