Ted Cruz, the Republican Senator from Texas who announced his 2016 candidacy for President Monday, gave a visual shout out to San Francisco in the first video released from his campaign.
Images of iconic American landmarks dot the video. Moments after the Golden Gate Bridge is shown, Cruz says, "It's going to take a new generation of courageous conservatives to help make America great again and I'm ready to stand with you to lead the fight
28.4 percent of California's 17.7 million voters were registered Republican in 2014, according to the Public Policy Institute of California.
"It may be that at this early stage in the game, the Cruz camp had to grab whatever third-rate video editor they could find to throw something together with stock video reels, and the direction was just 'images of different coast-to-coast locales, and American flags,'" reasoned SFist.
This is going to be fun.
Ted IS the smartest guy in the room and what he speaks of cuts across party lines.
Its going to be fun to watch the’Bay Area Bath House progressives’(BABHP) heads explode.
I’m buying popcorn!
A campaign ad with historic American icons and lots of flag waving?
Who the hell does he think he is ??!!?
Looks like Ted is thinking EVERY state is in play.
Not giving up on one single state.
This man is a fighter!
At least Cruz will be campaigning in all of the states... I hope he’ll go to all the states...Connecticut is not as liberal as some think, so if Cruz campaign in New England, we might even get some Rs in Congress...as Cruz said, Christians stayed home in 2008 and 2012, so we might see turnout I’m 2016 if Cruz is the ticket
