Despite being vehemently opposed to Obamacare, Ted Cruz is signing up for insurance under President Obama’s health care law.

The Texas Republican Senator and newly-announced presidential candidate, known for his staunch opposition to the Affordable Care Act, told CNN on Tuesday that he will be joining the millions of Americans enrolled in insurance under the law.

Heidi worked in Goldman’s Houston office. Why would her insurance be NYC-based?

What choice did they have? She quit her job most likely to avoid conflict of interest and now they don’t have the money for health insurance.

Well, aside from his $174,000 a year stipend as a United States Senator you mean?

Are you suggesting this means he could easily afford a nice private insurance plan thus avoiding Obamacare?

I *really* hope he finds a way to drive home the point that the far left are the genuine “extremists” in this country. That’ll be another thing that drives them bonkers. They know they’re the revolutionaries that act like innocents ... once he starts to shine the light on those morons, they’ll become the stark raving mad moonbats in public more often than not.

I have an idea for a Cruz poster that I think would drive the left insane.

Please, please understand that it’s ONLY designed AT the left.

If you recall the movie “V” for Vendetta. Very popular among the left as they saw it as an Anti-establishment or Anti-Bush movie.

I’d like see an image of the “V” pulling the Guy Fawkes mask from his face to reveal the face of Ted Cruz.

err...you are aware of the current USSC case that should have been decided in about 15 minutes last October, right?

The one where all the 34-36 states who intentionally “declined” to set up State “exchanges” are awaiting a decision from the nine black robed ones...on the legality of the Federal exchange/tax subsidies.

The USSC upheld that states could refuse to expand Medicaid as envisioned under the ACA.

The death blow to Obamacare, and possibly the IRS, is expected in June.

Frankly I am enraged that “our elected representatives” haven't shut down the entire Federal government, with the sole exemption of the DOD, until this issue is resolved.

I also believe Goldman moved their HQ’s to NJ.

“Do you think Cruz would at some point call for states to nullify unconstitutional federal acts?”

I don’t know. And given what we’ve seen to date, I doubt its a call that would be taken up regardless of who did so. There are 50 states and 50 governors. With a few exceptions relating to RKBA, nullification has been avoided by the states like the plague. I just don’t see more than a small, small handful of states having any inclination to do so at all. And none are inclined to do so on a widespread basis.

My personal view is that its a tactic with very limited usefulness.

and it applies to members of Congress who don’t otherwise have it through their spouses.

Thanks to Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who managed to cram that provision into the law in 2009. Zero and the rest of the executive branch remain on the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program.

The Cruzer call it whatever he wants, but the reality is how it plays out to the LIVs via the Journ-0-lists.

The medical sharing ministries are a clearly defined exception written in the law. Plus all are Christian or Christian related. There is nothing that would prevent Cruz from joining one and they’re cheaper than compliance with deathcare in many/most instances.

No, this is a political move. Ted isn’t showing his cards yet, nor would I expect him to.

Well did she actually terminate her employment? I thought she was just taking an extended leave of absence. COBRA isn’t available when you take a leave of absence.

There has been a lot of concern about the failures of the Obamacare web site. Have you tried to work that thing??
So we have a 1,200 page law and a web site that does not work to explain it??
I had a question and called the Obamacare Guru. He said , ‘Don't worry, Mr. Cruz, President Obama said he already has a panel just for you. Whats with that??

I went to one of the links on the Obamacare site, the one that said ‘What are the biggest operations done by Obamacare/’
I clicked it and it said ‘A. Cutting 20,000,000 Americans out of full time jobs and replacing them with part time minimum wage, no benefit Obamajobs.
B. Cutting 10,000,000 Americans off their existing health care program and replacing it with nothing.
C. Cutting the profit margins for 5,000,000 very small businesses and forcing them to shut down.
..How about cutting down a bloated autocratic Ultra Liberal bureaucracy down to size and then getting real health care reform and improvement??

TWB

We aren’t running for POTUS. We are not scrutinized under the public microscope like Cruz will be. It leaves us in a tough spot but I think Cruz did the best thing he could under the circumstances.

I’ve heard of some of those...is that where they pool money and pay for expenses of members? I’m surprised they were permitted to be ‘legal’ in ObamaWorld.

But, it means you are probably right about the card game. Texas hold ‘em? :>)

They moved many of their operations to NJ, but I beleive their HQ is still in NYC.

Regardless, the location of their HQ is irrelevant. Employees’ health insurance is typically based on where they live/work, not where the company is headquartered. For instance, I work in the NYC office of a company that is based in Chicago. My health insurance is a NYC network, not Chicago. Since Cruz’s wife worked in Houston, her insurance would have been based there, not NYC.

Yep, the left is squealing about this.

Finally someone is taking it to THEM! Lol

They don't know what to do besides complain. And they've already gone up to 11. There's nowhere left to go.
