What I find funny is people who bash Cruz for his H1-B stance (if that’s even his position) because they think it hurts them, but sneer at the Iowa farmers and their ethanol subsidies. It all just depends on whose ox is being gored.
Bogus comparison. American STEM workers don't want cash handed to them - they just don't want Third World wages to displace their own nor to be required to train the displacers (whose need for training proves they're not 'just as good').
A person forced to train a foreign replacement for his job is not the same as forcing every person in the country to buy ethanol laced gas. Ethanol mandates effect everybody. H1B only effects a tiny percentage of people.
Are they still going to call us purists now? Lol
Not sure how I got included in that response, but ... I support Ted on ethanol subsidies.
One question though: how are the two issues related? One is an unconstitutional wealth transfer and the other is a contrived solution to a problem we don’t have.
Who’s bashing?
No the analogy does not work. China opening factory farms in the USA manned by foreign workers undercutting the IOWA farmers would be the analogy.
