The New Free America i am not worried so much about.

However, what does anyone think the New Socialist America would be like? Seems to me they could have open black markets? What is to stop them? Deals with the worst characters in the world? Child prostitution? Let your imagination run wild.
What could we the New Free America do about it?

First, I really think the 2nd needs to have the explanatory clause removed. It’s far too easy nowadays (mainly due to the shift in the definitions of several key words) to misconstrue the entire purpose of the 2nd.

As to the concern over another War Between the States: during the previous one, we had a President who actually cared about the Union, and there were still people who had lived through the Revolutionary war walking around. This time, we have a _resident who really gives the appearance that he wishes most of Red America would just disappear, and many of his supporters voice that very opinion. If Red States started bailing out, I suspect a large percentage of the Blue areas would (at least initially) cheer them on and declare “good riddance”.

And yes, land area doesn’t equal a demographic majority, but it does highlight the deep divide between the two sides, and the increasing disparity between them.

The West Virginia vote for statehood was rigged by federal troops.

The chair of such an Article V Convention needs to be chosen carefully, to keep adventurous souls from stealing the process. The chair could maintain focus and order and prevent a runaway or the addition of any ridiculous riders to articles.

I nominate Mark Levin.

Well, for secession to work, you actually have to convince your state to do it. There’s the impassable roadblock right there.

Thanks for posting. Very well thought out. This is a discussion that needs to take place and I am amazed at those on our side who roll their eyes or spew venom. The country that we live in today was born from exactly such a decision and it was not made lightly then, either.

The time to take this action is after there is nothing left to lose (don’t think we are there quite yet) and before there is nothing left worth saving (while there are enough of us left who understand what extinguishing the flame of freedom means).

Unless this next election changes our course and I will pray that it does, we are all going to have to either face the reality of what needs to be done or accept our nation’s extinction.

I had to laugh when Mark Levin talked about a two-state solution...... for the United States.
