To object to Obama because he was only a one term senator is akin to objecting to Obama because he is only a fraction Irish. It is akin to claiming that Obama is stupid, he is not, he is a communist. It is akin to claiming that Obama cannot speak intelligently without a Teleprompter, he can and he does all the time.
There is plenty in Obama's biography to complain about and it all stems from ideology. There is much in Obama's administration of the office of president to complain about and in all stems not from his lack of experience but from his ideology.
I check a candidate's ideology first and then explore his character and, finally, I rate his experience. When it comes to evaluating experience it is not a question of checking boxes as is so often done by the military, it is a question of the issues faced and the decisions made.
Any rational evaluation of Ted Cruz's biography leads only to the conclusion that he has excelled to an extraordinary level in every task he has undertaken. This valuation is not what we are so used to seeing turned out on behalf of Democratic candidates whom, we are told election cycle after election cycle, is the smartest man (now woman) whoever graced the earth. Cruz's accomplishments are extraordinary because they are real.
And you don't need Harvard law degrees to have the right ideology, leadership and character to be president. At that level you can surround yourself with the best legal minds possible. But one needs those leadership skills to hire the right associates...The real experts.
