So why is a US citizen going to Mexico for treatment of epilepsy? I can’t imagine the Mexican government is going to be paying for the treatment, and I can’t imagine their medical system is better than ours for treating conditions like that.

My BS meter hit “Man the Lifeboats” when reading this.

It’s obviously cost. If he’s paying for his own medical care he can get treatment for less than half the price of a California doctor. It’s not even unusual. I’ve known doctors and dentists that had offices on both sides of the border. They had different costs depending on where you visited them. God help you if you ever had to sue over a medical screw up.
