This is why the Republicans will end up with a weak 2016 candidate. We will be stuck with a McCain or Romney type and will lose to Hillary which really should be an easy race to win!
If Cruz loses because of stuff like this it will mean he was a weak candidate himself.
If he's powerless before the skepticism that candidates usually have to face when they start out, how good a candidate or president could he actually make?
