PING
Bad move
You are right. They do not like the Mojados.
Translation at post № 12.
As much as I despise the immigration tidal wave period .
Cruz might reach a few points of Latino vote.
And it makes MSM ponder how to race bait.
But libtard Latinos will deem him a Tio Tomaś
I’ve read that Sen. Cruz admits to speaking a “lousy” version of Spanish.
Wish he could brush up on that in the coming months.
No way Auntie Jeb will pass up a chance to taunt him in Mex lingo on the debate stage.
Be nice if Cruz could pop him right back between the eyes.
We don't have that kind of caricature...In fact, I can't think of the closest caricature to the Negro's Uncle Ton...
Protestant Hispanics voted 56% republican in 2004, Cruz should be working on the Hispanic vote.
It’s an analogy
Uncle Tom
Latino libs which is the majority
Cling to persecuted minority status just the same as blacks
One day when we are a Latino majority nation we can see how Latinos really deal with the black race
Latinos in the U.S. tend to be dark
Amerindian and tropical negroid mixed in
A few European types
So it’s easy to grab the racial minority ring
Why am I having to explain this?
Do you really not get it
In fact, I can’t think of the closest caricature to the Negro’s Uncle Ton....Senatorio Juan McCain?
No, he isn’t. But then, neither are those phony Castro brothers who make a greater show of trying to convince people that they are.
The imagery is excellent in that ad.
Senator Cruz will not flip-flop. There is nothing wrong with launching an ad in Spanish. Texas elected him - Texas has a large, conservative Hispanic population.
There are lots of Hispanics here legally that dont speak much English. That’s different than pandering to illegals that should not be voting period.
If it was 114 years ago, I would easily expect ads that were in German.
I agree English is our country's language and that language should be used, however, Cruz running for president isn't a business trying to sell washing machines (etc.). The reality is a voter needs to be able to understand what the candidate is saying, otherwise he/she won't vote for that candidate. Luckily, Cruz is fluent in Spanish to be able to reach that segment of voters.
Take, for instance, the society around my townhouse which is 40 miles north of Houston. The group of people living in those townhouses are mostly older people and they have housekeepers to clean their houses. Most of the housekeepers are Spanish and most can't speak English. I turned one down because she spoke NO English so I couldn't communicate with her. Those housekeepers need to be able to hear what Cruz says. They can since Cruz speaks Spanish.
The repair company that makes repairs on the townhouses, has a head Spanish guy who speaks English but his workers only speak Spanish. They need to be able to understand what Cruz is saying and they can because he speaks Spanish.
Multiply that situation across the country and there are some millions of Spanish speakers who don't speak English but they are actual citizens who can vote. Cruz can reach that segment of voters and he needs every vote he can get.
The importance of ONE vote:
When my husband was Republican County Chairman of our country, we had a Republican office open. Next door to that office was a small gas station that sold the regular foodstuffs and drinks most of those places have. My husband was in there with his friend who was running for one of our precinct chairs. The owner was from India and he was a citizen but hadn't voted in an election yet. The two men told him to be sure and vote and vote for our friend as chair of that precinct. He said he would.
So, the guy voted. When the totals were added election night, our friend won by ONE VOTE. That guy's vote made our friend the precinct chairman. ONE VOTE MATTERS.
I hope Cruz gets every Spanish vote because he can reach them through their home language - Spanish.
I disagree
Wishful thinking by Freepers
Most Latinos here are not natives.....of those living now 50% of adult age are foreign born
This ain’t Juan Seguin
Most are recent arrivals past 30 years and understand full well anchoring to get kin up here
It’s like the old Catholic argument here about how they must have family values with a 55% illegitimacy
Freepers have never been very realistic about immigration
And it is that
Immigration in total
We have been flooded and lost our country
It’s gone
Cruz is a band aid
We will be a minority white nation in three generations max
I suppose folks here think that will be just fine too
This is just pitiful still hearing this Pollyanna here
I’m not trying to be ugly to you but your reply was just wishing
The statistics in every aspect refute your view that culturally the Hispanic invasion is just business as usual
It is not
Nearly three in four vote lib
Over half are on govt assistance
Urban Hispanic concentrations can have real issues like Antioch in Nashville or East LA
“It just makes me think he’ll flip-flop on immigration as soon as he gets into office, like almost every other so-called conservative seems to do.”
You don’t know Cruz. He means what he says. However, no one can arrest every illegal in this country and ship them back. If that is what you want, you’ll never get that. He won’t make them voting citizens though unless they go through the legal process to become a citizen.
“He has previously said that he would legalize illegals here currently.”
______
Anyone who doesn’t believe that this is going to happen is not keeping up with the reality of politics. These illegals cannot vote, but they are married to, parents of, relatives of, employees of and tenants of legal, voting Americans who will turn on the GOP if they are deported. We have to push for the best possible resoution (closing the borders while getting these people on the tax rolls, but not the voting rolls), instead of the perfect resolution.
