Amen to that Jim. He has my FULL backing. I am primarily a social conservative, and Cruz touches all the right bases with me. I initially leaned towards Huckabee, but now believe Cruz better represents me by both belief and actions. Go Ted!
My take was, Huckabee was a DC kind of guy who knew how to talk the people's talk when he was down home with the folks.
Walker might be a Midwestern economic conservative who's also a LaFollette (RiNO) Republican on social issues .... which is why I'm strongly leaning toward Cruz.

Watch it and see that Extremist takes it out of context because this is legal immigration for a critical need in the economy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Senator Cruz’ calling for an increase in legal immigration to fill millions of job openings that go unfilled for Science. Technology, Enginneering amd Mathematics (STEM) jobs.
And Senator Cruz details all the shortage studies and needs from industry in order for America to remain competitive.
To increase legal immigration from 65,000 to 325,000 for these highly skilled jobs is nothing compared to the millions of slots that go unfilled.
Those trying to paint Senator Cruz as some sort of supporter of uncontrolled immigration are going to have a tough sell especially in light of his comments on Executive Amnesty in his speech today.
To the Cruz detractors here, I say nice try and BYE-BYE, because what you’re doing won’t fly, won’t work.
Watching FNC right now, I think Cruz’s biggest detractors are going to be false conservatives. On The Five, Greg and Eric both laid into Ted Cruz with all kinds of BS.
“My take was, Huckabee was a DC kind of guy who knew how to talk the people’s talk when he was down home with the folks.”
My take is that I think Huckabee to be genuine and resent persons that bad mouth him.
HOWEVER, I AM SUPPORTING SENATOR TED CRUZ! Not because of a dislike for Huckabee, but because I think Ted is the better choice. Both Ted and Mike are genuine social/moral conservatives, but I think lately that Ted has been willing to go more out on a limb to promote social conservatism. Plus, he appeals to other “conservative” elements of the GOP that are necessary to win. I do not share the negative view of Huckabee expressed so often on this forum, but I DO share and admiration of Ted Cruz found here.
Ted is the best man. He is real, articulate, and what I believe we need in a GOP candidate. I am hoping that Mike will decide not to run and throw his support to Ted.
However, I must warn you and others that bad mouthing Mike Huckabee (especially calling him “Huckster”) is bad form and divisive. Ted is an exceptional person that doesn’t require bad mouthing Mike to prove. Sing Ted’s praises (I will) and avoid denigrating Mike....it serves NO purpose but to entrench persons prone to vote for Mike into NOT voting when Ted gets the nomination. Senator Cruz was clear in his speech we need ALL religious conservatives to back him. We CANNOT afford defections because persons want to engage is dirt slinging.
