Karl Rove is an easy - and juicy - target but Glenn Beck has lost a lot of conservative's interest because he is all over the place, one day feeling great sympathy for illegal alien children and gays that want to mock marriage, the next going against Common Core or the soft liberalism of the RNC. Again, both easy targets.

Beck likely considers himself an iconoclastic political independent that refuses to adopt strictly conservative or liberal positions to please either side. Fair enough.

Glenn Beck can certainly do that in an attempt to be on both sides of the political divide but it also renders him a bit too mercurial for most conservatives who suspect Beck is just as willing to bash a conservative position as a liberal one - with equal sincerity.

After all, he has a broadcast empire to maintain and doesn't want to alienate half his potential audience.

Which would make him... Bill O’Reilly.

The world needed another Ted Baxter...
