But it seems like there are more commercials now on the internet than there ever was on TV
You obviously haven't watched TV recently.
Commercial breaks are now so long (and frequent), they've resorted to sticking in a teaser just to remind you what show you were watching.
Quite frankly, with TV stations being broadcast on the public's airwaves, I don't see how 12-13 minutes of commercials during a 30 minute show is in our best interest.
Where the hell is the FCC? Nevermind ...

A few years ago I attempted to discern how much time was devoted to ads on talk shows like Rush's and Hannity's. They promise three hours of talk, but what it comes down to in many of them it is about an hour and one half. Seven minute commercial breaks are not uncommon.

And when the clock says about 5-10 minutes to the hour, you might as well turn it off or switch stations because the host won't start yakking again for 15-20 minutes.

Rush used to be the best about talking more than running ads, but in the last five years he's actually added more ads. I know when the breaks are, and I simply either switch stations or turn the radio off. Sorry Rush, too many ads.
