When the starting five of all-black Kentucky finish their only year of college ball, they'll all declare for the draft. All of them will sign million dollar plus contracts with the pros as has many black Kentucky and non-Kentucky black athletes for the past thirty-forty years. I guess that point has escaped Zirin.

Current athletes basically intern at college. I would bet most have little to zero interest in academics. But most black students at major colleges do not make it to the pros. Going to college gives them a chance to earn a legitimate degree and make money in a non-sports career. And strangely enough, the same is true for non-black athletes.

Zirin knows that the great majority of black athletes in major universities are severely unprepared for anything but playing sports. So he tries to make it out that they're being robbed by the system and deserve lots of money. Bs. They're getting a free ride and a chance at something many non-blacks do not get. If they can't take advantage of it...too bad.

And to be sure, most scholarship athletes in colleges will never make any money playing pro ball. If they screw up their college years...whose fault is it?

These highly recruited black players are getting a free ride, no study courses, an A just for being able to breath, and tickets for their families to atrend the games. All they have to do is talk without marbles in their heads and mouths.
