With a grocery bills priced as high as $1,300 per month as of late, some American workers simply cannot afford all of their groceries on top of everything else they already have to buy. This is why the government offers food stamps.
The USDA Food and Nutrition Service reports that as of September 2014, there were around 46.5 million individual food stamp recipients (22.7 million households) receiving an average benefit of $123.74 each (around $257 per household).

Don’t forget that the food stamp recipients aren’t paying for two meals on school days either. We are in the “free lunch” program. That also provides the free breakfast too.
My 6 person family in FAirbanks, AK has a $1500 per month budget for groceries AND gas. At almost $3 per gallon, with 2-8 cylinder rigs.
Sounds like a money laundering op.
Generation after generation on food stamps. A continuous circle. It should be limited to 6 months and game over.
Buy staple ingredients and cook from scratch, like my mom did to feed her six kids. Your food bill will come in WAY under that.
American’s think this is bad now?
Wait another 5 years or so when government has imported another 10 million from Mexico, Pakistan, China, El Salvador, Somalia and on and on.
And it won’t stop.
We are simply being incrementally choked off.
The media gets 5 to 10 per cent of food stamp money in the form of the advertising costs of the products.
If it weren’t for the spending liberals do, and the hidden taxes on the workers that support that spending, workers would not have to go on food stamps.
Instead of telling people that- the media tells workers food stamps is a kindness from liberals.
It is a kindness- to the media’s profits.
Oregon?
We are a family of eight-with 2 teenage boys who put away an amazing amount of food-and we spend less than that. We eat whole food, some organic, but nothing out of a box. I could easily spend that much, but keep it under $1000/month-and that includes everything; paper products, cleaning supplies, beauty products, etc.
$1300 a month seems excessive for “regular” size families just for food. Leftest elites must be living very well, indeed if that amount is considered normal.
That’s right (and those free food programs are starting to be run during the summer now as well). Our hearts are supposed to bleed for the (nonexistent) children starving to death, then on the other hand for the (very real) obese poor people killing themselves with too much food...
“A lot of people in DC are unemployable.”
Yet the voters keep sending them back.
And it wont stop.
We are simply being incrementally choked off.
BTW, it don't matter who is in office in the kingdom of corruption, as long as they allow tens of millions of these imports to continue to flow in.
You know those adverts you see on television about all the children going to bed hungry every night.....I tell everyone there are NO poor in the US. The other day I saw a homeless vet using a smart-phone. I asked “Hey bro, need a fin?” He said yes and I asked “ who’s paying for the phone?” He said “FU” and left with my 10.
Has to be by percentage, NM’s only got 2 million people total.
$1300 a month? Almost $16,000 a tear for groceries? Sorry but I wasn’t born yesterday... It’s a liberal lie.
This exact same scene plays out every day across america. ....they look at it as reparations in the black communities. They "Work" at how to play the system.
Shops at Whole Foods in DC.
“...grocery bills priced as high as $1,300 per month...”

I budget $800/month to feed 5 adults and two toddlers.
BUT, that is MY money not someone else’s money.
That's why they fight so hard to stay in public office!
